About / Brent England

Making progress.
Making room for life.

I'm Brent. I'm documenting the work of building a little more financial freedom, one small business experiment and one better habit at a time.

Starting where I am.

My current project is a small eBay business selling sports and Pokémon cards. I'm starting with cards I already own and learning how to keep track of the real costs behind a sale.

The bigger goal is to pay off consumer debt, build a three-month emergency fund, and eventually invest for the future. I'm interested in long-term investing, including dividend-paying stocks, but first I want a stronger foundation.

Learning in public.

This isn't a story told from the finish line. It's a record of what I'm trying, what works, and what I need to do differently.

I'm not a financial advisor. I share my own experiences and the tools that help me understand them, with the hope that the process is useful to someone starting their own.

Books and lifelong learning are part of that process. I want to take useful ideas from the page and see how they hold up in everyday life.

The philosophy

Earn. Learn. Live.

Earn.

Build something useful. Understand the numbers. Create more options through small businesses and better money habits.

Learn.

Stay curious, read thoughtfully, and turn ideas into small experiments instead of waiting to have everything figured out.

Live.

Remember what the work is for. Make space for creativity, relationships, and a life worth paying attention to.

Film photography helps me slow down. My Rolleicord and Canon Sure Shot give me a reason to notice what I might otherwise walk past.
